Because
of recent HAIL STORM Architectural Control Approval required
on all changes to existing establishment.
Guidelines
for Roof replacement - All replacement materials must be approved
by the Board PRIOR to installation. You may replace with wood
shake, Composite (asphalt ) or steel. If Asphalt, the product
MUST carry a minimum 40 year warranty. Whatever product you
select the product must be consistent in colorand texture and
style with a "wood shake". As a side note, please
make sure you are dealing with a reputable company and check
licences, insurance, references, etc. At this time of year there
are a lot of "storm chasers" who may not be as they
represent themselves.

ARCHITECTURAL
CONTROL APPROVAL - NEEDED BEFORE BEGINNING EXTERIOR CHANGES
TO HOME!!
As always, approval is required for new construction and ANY
improvements to your home including fences, decks, new roof.
Note that this includes ALL exterior painting. Please
request approval prior to beginning exterior changes. To access
the required forms, visit the Estates of Ashton website. The
Architectural Form must be stamped "approved" according
to the by-laws before proceeding on any project.
Roofing
- all replacements of all or any portion of a completed structure
because of age, casualty loss, or other reason (such as a building
addition) including without limitation, roofing and siding shall
be the SAME materials, unless the changes have been submitted
and approved in writing by Architectural Control Committee.
If
proper procedures are not obtained and your property does not
meet with the requirements of the subdivision, a possible lien
on your property can be placed. The Architectural Control Committee
works hard to quickly approve homeowner's requests, but please
remember there is a review process to assure all guidelines
are properly met.
*Curbs
- if your property has damage to the curb at the end of your
driveway, please contact the City of Olathe at 971-8700 and
they will make an evaluation of your property to determine proper
repair. This will need to be handled by each property owner
as the City of Olathe general repair is asphalt and that is
a personal preference; they could determine masonry repair but
that is the discretion of the individual that evaluates your
request.
